Music Explorium® is an independent, woman-owned business
Cathy Kielar is that woman!
Cathy and her husband Blaise play music and
work together in their family-owned businesses.
Cathy's current version of Music Explorium® is quite different from the one her husband, Blaise Kielar, created in 1999. After many years of offering a variety of strings, winds and drums from all over the world, the business focus turned to Electric Violins and hand drums. Blaise branched off into a separate business, Electric Violin Shop, and Cathy still sells hand drums through Music Explorium®. Since Cathy's training, talents and interests lie in the drum circle experience, Cathy created EXPLORE! Rhythm with the mission of:

Creating hands-on rhythm events for fun, education and community building

Our new facilities offers a 462 sf event room with lots of windows, pergo floor, a small kitchen, full-size refrigerator, and bathroom. We also have a large, well-lit parking lot. We rent our facility for use appropriate to our business mission.

We are conveniently located near RTP in Durham. We are just 10 miles from Cary/Apex and Chapel Hill/Carrboro and 15  miles from Raleigh.

Kudos for Explore! Rhythm

You were absolutely wonderful! I know the students learned from you. You definitely had everyone, including us teachers, at the edge of our seats. It was an experience we'll never forget. Next time we'll have to have you do an hour; 30 minutes just flew by! You were the perfect finale for a fabulous workshop and we appreciated your program!!
- Michele Pechacek - CAPTA Rhythm Workshop 2006

"What a great service you provide by giving people a safe place to explore percussion and dance and guiding them in your supportive and fun way!
- Kate Finlayson, Carrboro NC, Recreation and Parks

"We cannot thank you enough for your visit to Exploris to teach our campers about the joys of percussion. Your understanding of the kid's capabilities and interests goes unparalleled by other visiting artists."
-Camp Team from Exploris Museum, Raleigh, NC

"Your program was exactly what we we looking for, and the kids and staff really enjoyed it. The kids ended up writing some great songs, and we had great dance and drama performances. Your participation was integral to the success of the overall program. You really have a wonderful way with working with people. -Sam Hensley - Brown Summit Camp
