Why is drumming healthy?
Drumming offers immediate success for creating music. Drums are the most natural and accessible of all musical instruments. DRUMS ARE USER FRIENDLY!

And any rhythm-based activity:

  • Develops left & right brain integration for improved academic skills
  • Strengthens ability for focus and recall
  • Builds non-verbal communication like hand, eye and ear co-ordination
  • Builds small and large muscle coordination
  • Creates a co-operative rather than competitive
  • Promotes socialization
  • Promotes individuality and leadership skills
  • Builds self-esteem
  • Offers a multi-cultural experience that breaks down cultural, gender and age barriers
  • Promotes individuals uniqueness and their important contribution to the group
  • Puts us in the Here and Now! – no multi-tasking, no “doing our list” – Just Being the Present.
  • It's Fun Fun Fun!
Why shop locally?
When we look at the current "rankings" of our community in media like Forbes and Kiplinger magazines, the Triangle is consistently in the top five best. We rank well in housing costs, quality of education, the environment, taxes. And we rank #2 in Best for Business and Careers (Forbes 2005); #4 in Cities that Rock (Esquire 2004); and #3 in Best for Reinventing your Life (AARP 2003). Our community, the Triangle, is a happen' place to live.

Let's face it, consumer spending is a big part of what makes a community strong. Dollars spent with community-based businesses support not only jobs and infrastructure, but the distinctive character of our community. So why not keep our dollars local? When you say, "I can get it cheaper on-line" consider the quality of your experience with that purchase, and what that distant mega-retailer offers your community-based experience. Experiences like hangin' and playin' in a cool shop, attending an instructive class, drumming at a community rhythm event have real value for many of us. So, why send our money to other parts of the world, even if we save $10. What is the real cost and real value of that monetary savings? What is the real cost of not supporting local businesses?
